Florida vacation rental insurance

Vacation rental insurance for Florida Airbnb and VRBO hosts.

Updated · Reviewed by Nymble Insurance LLC, a licensed Florida agency

Vacation rental insurance covers a home or condo you rent to short-term guests: the building and furnishings, your liability to guests, and lost rental income after a covered loss. A standard homeowners policy often won't. Nymble Insurance LLC, a licensed Florida agency, places single units, multi-unit properties and hosts with many rentals.

  • Homes, condos, townhomes and multi-unit rentals
  • Host liability, contents and loss of rental income
  • One agency handles your quote. Your info isn't sold.

Does homeowners insurance cover my Florida Airbnb or VRBO rental?

Usually not fully. Most homeowners policies exclude or limit business use, so damage or injuries during a paid stay may be denied. Short-term rental hosts need a policy written for vacation rental use, or an endorsement, that covers the dwelling, liability to guests and lost rental income after a covered loss.

Is booking platform host protection the same as insurance?

No. Platform protection programs have their own terms, limits and exclusions, and they are not a substitute for a policy in your name. They may not cover wear, mold, or hurricane damage. Hosts should carry their own short-term rental coverage and treat platform protection as a possible extra layer.

Florida vacation rental insurance questions, answered

Does homeowners insurance cover Airbnb in Florida?

Often not, or only in limited ways. Tell your agent how you rent so it's written correctly.

Do you insure multi-unit vacation rentals?

Yes: duplexes, small multi-unit buildings and hosts with many units.

Is Airbnb or VRBO host protection enough?

It isn't a policy you own and has its own limits. Most hosts carry their own policy.

What do I need for a quote?

Property details, nights rented, max guests, amenities, management and your current policy.
